Welcome to my page. My name is Debra Brooks. Born and raised in Oxford, Alabama, I now live in Lincoln, Alabama with my now 15 year old daughter, Journey. As an amateur writer since a young age, and now at almost 36, I aspire to touch and inspire others through a verbal truth all the while still learning and growing my path.

As a single mother of not only a teenager, but a teenager with high functioning Autism, I find that writing and reading are ways to express my truth. The past, the present, the good, and the bad. I hope you will join me, and I hope each entry, blog or poetry, will inspire you to know that there’s real people out here. Struggling just as you may be, and still pushing on.
